I'm always looking for more information. This is the stuff that really gets me excited about model railroading - automated operations - making things happen without human intervention.
This device allows you to never have to worry about trains derailing at branch connections. One pair of detectors is located on the mainline and the other on the branch line. As train 1 on the mainline approaches, the turnout points automatically line up for that train. If train 2 on the branchline approaches after that, the points won't change until train 1 has cleared the turnout. Four seconds after train 1 clears the area, then the points will automatically align for train 2.
This can also work for a single crossover. The turnout can still be controlled manually as well by attaching push buttons to the D2T not included.

I decided to get the one with the spring switch simulator "run-through" switchwhich resets the turnout for the mainline automatically as the default alignment after the area is clear of equipment, although you can get the D2T without it if you wish. Since I have Atlas turnouts, I got the one that works for 3-wire turnouts. There is another model that works for 2-wire turnouts. Make sure you choose the right one if you decide to buy one. I believe they are pretty highly spoken of around here, but maybe not a lot of users though. Also, I do not recall ever seeing a negative comment about Azatrax here on the forum?
I have no first hand experience with any of their products, but there are some I find interesting and may get around to trying some out one of these days. I wouldn't be afraid to place an order with them if I had current needs for something they have.
We are using one of their detector and relay units on our module lift bridge. The bridge goes up manually for now a bell rings and power is cut to nearby modules. I have many of the Azatrax sensors on my layout, and they work great.
I use them not only to sense the trains to operate signals, but also to detect objects and people. I have automated the Lionel Sawmill so it starts when the log car dumps the logs on the mill, and then stops when there are no more logs to saw, as detected by Azatrax sensors. Installed on the fascia of the layout through two small holes that are practically undetectable, I sense when people are present in front of accessories, such as the Lionel kids on a swing, etc.

Here's how I do it -- get 24 solid wire from a phone cable or 'Cat 5' computer network cable. It's easy to find at any builder's I just got a partial spool at a Habitat for Humanity Re-Store.
